What is a cleanse?
A cleanse is simply when you allow your body to detoxify itself. A juice cleanse is when you refrain from solid food and consume pure juices for a certain period of time.
What are the benefits of juicing?
When you juice, your system is flooded with an abundance of vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients – plant compounds that help your body stay strong, look beautiful, and fight disease.
People who do the juice cleanse experience the following:
Immune system boost.
Ease in digestion.
Increase in energy.
Clearer, more radiant skin.
Less craving for sweets and junk food.
How do I prepare for a cleanse?
Condition your mind, then your body will follow.
Pre-Cleanse (1 to 2 days before the Juice Cleanse):
Rule out caffeine, nicotine, processed sugar, processed foods and red meat. Steamed fish and brown rice can be taken two days before the cleanse. A day before the cleanse, consume mostly raw foods such as fresh fruit and vegetables, and raw nuts. Avoid breads, pasta, white rice, eggs and dairy during the pre cleanse period. Vegetable and fruit smoothies can also be taken as meals.
During the Juice Cleanse:
Consume only the allotted juices per day. No food intake for the duration of the cleanse, and even more so no alcohol, caffeine or nicotine. Hydrate yourself with purified water.
After the Cleanse:
Reverse the order in which you prepared for your cleanse to ease your digestive system out of it. One day after the cleanse, consume mostly brown rice, fresh fruit and vegetables, and raw nuts. Avoid breads, pasta, white rice, eggs and dairy. Two days after the cleanse, you may start taking dairy, steamed fish, brown rice and begin to slowly return to your normal diet.
We certainly hope that you make healthier choices after your cleanse! Repeat the Juice Cleanse after 2 weeks to 1 month to reap benefits and maintain the healthy lifestyle.
